NSF Collect

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open these documents You must have Adobe Reader to view and print these documents.

Apply

  1. Select which program you feel best meets your business needs, either Easy Collect or Control Collect
  2. If you have multiple business locations and wish to have all of them utilize NSF Collect's services, please complete the Mutli-Location form as well as the Easy Collect or Control Collect forms.
  3. Merchant completes and signs the Merchant Service Agreement and Bank Release
    Authorization.
  4. FAX All completed and signed forms to: (239) 985-0071.
  5. Your merchant profile is entered into Agent Web Interface.

The Process

  1. NSF Collect receives the required signed forms and approves the account. The
Bank Release Authorization Form the customer signed is then forwarded to their
bank (The bank release must be signed and sent to the bank for accounts that NSF
Collect is to receive the checks from the bank directly for entry).
  2. When the above steps are completed the merchant will receive a welcome kit
containing a welcome letter with their merchant number and our 800 number to
call for a login and password. They must have their welcome letter at the time of
this call. This kit also contains a CD with a Merchant Users Guide in an Acrobat
    PDF format.
  3. Depending on the program selected by the merchant, either the Merchant or NSF
Collect completes the task of entering checks. If the checks are entered by the
merchant, NSF Collect must receive a readable copy of the front and back of the
check from the merchant before we may process the check.
  4. Checks that are entered by the merchant go directly into the system queue for
submittal. Checks that are entered into the system by NSF Collect have a status of
Received until the next check submittal date at which point they are released to
    the queue for submittal.
  5. A merchant may choose to place any check with a status of Received on Hold.
This will cause the check to be returned to the merchant without an attempt to
collect. Only a check with a status of Received may be placed on Hold to be
returned (The next submittal date and time is posted on the merchants web
    interface).
  6. 3 to 4 business days after the check is submitted the first time, it will come back as
either collected or uncollected. The status of the check is visible to the merchant
thru their web interface. If the check is collected it will go to the queue to be paid
(The payout schedule is covered in detail in the Payouts and Commissions section
of this guide). If the check comes back uncollected it will move to the appropriate
queue depending on the status code of the check. If the account is closed, the
check is a stop pay or a status that does not allow us to re-submit the check. The
check will go to secondary collections, but only if the merchant choose this option
at sign up. If they did not choose this option, then the check will be returned to the
    merchant.
  7. If the check comes back for reason other than account closed, stop pay or a status
that does not allow us to re-submit the check, the check will move to step 9
(Checks may only be submitted to the bank for payment 3 times, all checks that
have been submitted for payment twice go directly to step 9).
  8. For the checks that make it to step 9, the check writers account is monitored for up
to 180 days for funds to become available. If funds become available at anytime
during this period an immediate request for funds to cover the check is submitted.
3 to 4 business days after this check is re-submitted it will come back as either
collected or uncollected (Funds being available at time of submittal does not
always guarantee collection). The status of the check is visible to the merchant
thru their web interface throughout the collection process. If the check is collected
it will go to the queue to be paid. If the check comes back uncollected it will move
to secondary collections, if the merchant selected this option at sign up. If not the
check is returned to the merchant.
  9. Checks sent to secondary collection can take an additional 180 days to collect.
Checks in secondary collections are updated in the merchant web interface every
two weeks. Every means available to collect thru secondary collections are used.
You must inform your merchant of this before they sign for secondary collections.
If the check is collected thru secondary collections the fee to the merchant is 25%
of the face value of the check. After being collected it will go to the queue to be
paid less the appropriate fee of 25% of the face value of the check. In the rare
instance the check comes back uncollected it will be returned to the merchant.
