Who is NSF Collect

NSF Collect is a growing leader in the Electronic Check Re-Presentment industry. We specialize in collecting on returned checks. Our service is designed to provide an alternative for merchants when it comes to the frustrating task of collecting on bad checks.

NSF Collect is not a check guarantee service. It is an electronic check re-presentment service. Electronic check re-presentment is similar to re-depositing the check thru the bank except it is faster and much more effective.

Our system utilizes the National Automated Clearinghouse Network and our National Processing Partners to recover NSF checks using state of the art electronic check conversion technology.

The Process

As a merchant you sign a bank release form notifying your bank to mail all returned checks to NSF Collect's local processing center. If desired the merchant can forgo the bank release and enter their checks on their own.

Once there, the checks are entered into our system and converted to an electronic transaction. These transactions are transmitted on a collection day to ACH Network for next day debiting of the customer's bank account. If merchant has chosen to enter their checks, they must fax a copy of all checks entered before they may be processed.

Merchants may go to their personal online user interface and view checks ready to be processed. If you wish you may stop a check that has not been processed or view additional information about your account.

If the check is rejected on the first re-presentment, the customer's bank account is monitored for funds availability. Once available, the check is processed immediately.

If funds fail to become available within 180 days our secondary collection service will begin, an option available to you on your application. If you do not choose our secondary collection program, the check is then mailed back to you.

Detailed reports are provided online or if you choose by fax or email. These reports will keep you aware of when checks are received by NSF Collect, when the checks have cleared and have been credited to your account.
